Code of Conduct
-
Dancers should conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and treat others with kindness and respect. Older students act as role models for the younger ones.
Students and parents should respect our professional decision on class placement and teaching and we will not tolerate rude or aggressive behaviour to any staff member. If you have an issue, we request that you contact the Principal directly rather than discussing publicly.
Students have the right to be able to learn to dance in a supportive and caring environment without the fear of being bullied. Any suggestion of bullying will be investigated by the Principal and appropriate action will be taken.Students must show good discipline and class etiquette in each lesson. Our teachers have the right to ask your child to sit out of any part of a class if they are disruptive and this interferes with other children’s learning. We reserve the right to exclude from further classes any child who is repeatedly disruptive.
Students should show a high level of commitment and attend regularly. This will aid their progress.
-
Students should be punctual and arrive at least five minutes in advance of the lesson’s start time.
Arriving late means missing the vital warm-up exercises and thereby increases risk of injury as well as disrupting the focus and concentration of other students.
If late arrival cannot be avoided, students should wait until the music has finished before entering the studio to join the class.
-
Students should arrive dressed in the correct uniform and footwear for the class. Hair must be tied back away from the face in the appropriate style for the lesson.
No jewellery is permitted for safety reasons.
No nail varnish is permitted as this detracts from presentation of arms and hands.
Students should present themselves professionally as this is part of the discipline of learning to dance.
-
Students and their parents should seek permission from the Principal if they wish to attend classes at another dance school or audition for Associates, performances and intensive courses.
We do not accept any responsibility for items damaged, lost or stolen which are brought to or left at any of our premises.
